There’s a glut of personal health monitors on the market, but most of those wearables only give a skin-deep glimpse at personal biometrics. Lumee is an eyelash-sized biosensor that is actually inserted about 3 millimeters below the body’s surface. When a small LED beacon is placed over the embed, Lumee reflects back wavelengths of light that are decoded and sent via Bluetooth to a corresponding mobile app. By measuring everything from glucose levels for diabetics to lactate levels to athletes and presenting that info in clean layouts and thoughtful data viz simulations, Lumee offers clinical-grade analytics for everyday users.
