Target Open House

If you want to sell your product at Target, the barrier to entry is the ability to supply hundreds of thousands of units. That’s too big a hurdle for most new technology startups to make, but it’s also a big missed opportunity for Target, which recognizes that today’s internet of things startup is tomorrow’s multi-billion-dollar product. To address the problem, Target created a permanent Open House in San Francisco. Designed to explain as well as demonstrate new IoT products in the context of a transparent mockup home, the Open House serves not only as a space for customers to check out the most cutting-edge home tech, but also as a funnel for Target to see which up-and-coming products have the most potential for a broader market.
