For its first Seattle outlet, Warby Parker embraced the association between eyeglasses and reading, creating a retail environment inspired by books and writing. When customers enter the Annex, they are greeted by an installation of stacked books, while the counter for pickups and adjustments was fashioned after a library’s reference desk. Checkered oak floors, desks, and typewriters complete the illusion of a space that is more library than optometrist’s office.
